How could you ? 訳:どうしてそんなことを！何てことを！そりゃないよ！
こんな感じで使います。

A：Hi Anne. When are we going to visit our grandparents?
はい、アン。いつ爺ちゃん婆ちゃんとこ訪ねようか?
B：Sorry, Rosie. But I visited them last week with my boyfriend.
ごめん、ロージー。先週、彼氏と訪れちゃった。
A：How could you? We decided to go there together.
そりゃないよ。一緒に行くって決めたじゃん。
B：I’m sorry. But I’m afraid you have to go alone.
ごめ－ん。悪いけど一人で行ってぇ。

A：Mom, how could you give her the necklace？ I asked you first.
母さん、どうして彼女にネックレスあげちゃったの？私が最初にお願いしたじゃん。
B：She suddenly asked and I couldn’t say ”no”.
彼女が突然お願いしてきて、ダメって言えなかったんだよ。
A：I wanted to wear it in the New Year’s party.
新年会で着けたかったのに～。
B：I’m sorry, dear！
ごめん。
